Why?
Have you ever wondered why the IBEW is involved in politics? The answer is simple: because politics directly impact our lives as electrical workers. From wages and benefits to workplace safety and job opportunities, the decisions made by lawmakers and government officials have a profound impact on our livelihoods and the future of our industry.
By actively participating in politics, we have a voice in shaping policies that affect our wages, working conditions, and overall quality of life. We work tirelessly to advocate for legislation that supports fair wages, safe working environments, and opportunities for career growth. Through our collective strength, we have the power to influence positive change and ensure that our interests as electrical workers are well-represented.
Additionally, our involvement in politics allows us to protect and strengthen our union. We engage with policymakers to safeguard our rights to organize, collectively bargain, and maintain our union security. We stand united to defend the principles of solidarity and ensure that our union remains strong for generations to come.
Remember, politics is not just a distant concern—it directly impacts our daily lives as electrical workers. By staying informed, actively participating, and supporting our union's political efforts, we can create a better future for ourselves, our families, and our industry.
